Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are open-ended investment funds listed and traded on a stock exchange. They are passively-managed funds designed to mirror an index, thus have lower expense ratios compared to traditional unit trust funds. ETFs have straightforward structures, are inexpensive to trade, and are as liquid as stocks. In addition, ETFs have the diversification advantages of an index unit trust fund. In 2006, the CIMB FTSE ASEAN 40 was listed on the SGX as the world's first ASEAN Exchange Traded Fund (ETF). Now, CIMB is proud to bring you the CIMB FTSE Xinhua China 25 and the CIMB FTSE ASEAN 40 Malaysia, the first offshore ETFs to be listed in Malaysia.
